Waterfalls have long been admired for their stunning beauty and fierce strength. Niagara Falls are a series of waterfalls formed by the Niagara River on the borders of Canada and the United States. The falls separate the state of New York and the province of Ontario. The Niagara Falls are composed of two major sections separated by American Falls (U.S.) and Horseshow Falls (CA).
These falls were formed following the last ice age when the glaciers began to melt and the water from the newly formed Great lakes worked its way through the Niagara Escarpment on their way to the Atlantic Ocean. The Niagara Falls are not as high as they are wide. The falls boast more than six million cubic feet of water flowing every minute. These are the most powerful falls in America.
